Why a student cannot be enrolled
Enrollment checks depend on whether you are registering a new student or adding a student who already has a Speakly record. If one path rejects an enrollment, do not assume the other path applies the same checks.
Check these items
- Branch: confirm the current branch matches the student's and course's branch.
- Student: when adding an existing student, the student must be active and not already enrolled in the course.
- Course status: the existing-student Add Student workflow accepts courses in Enrollment Open, Enrollment Closed, or In Progress. A course appearing in the new-student Registration list does not guarantee every enrollment check will pass.
- Capacity: existing-student enrollment is blocked when the course has no available spaces.
- Sessions and date: the course needs scheduled sessions, the date cannot be after all sessions have passed, and at least half the course's sessions (rounded up) must remain. See How enrollment session ranges work.
- Schedule conflict: the existing-student flow checks whether the proposed sessions overlap with sessions in another pending or active enrollment.
- Duplicate enrollment: if the student already has an enrollment in the course, use the appropriate enrollment-management process rather than adding them again.
- Access: your account needs the relevant permission and branch access. Ask an administrator to check if a menu or action is missing.
If these checks do not explain the error, note the student, course, branch, enrollment date, and message shown, then contact your course administrator. Do not change the date simply to bypass a schedule or eligibility warning.
