Why a progress-report grade is pending
A pending component means Speakly does not yet have eligible results to calculate that part of the report. It is not necessarily a zero.
Assignments and quizzes
- An assignment contributes after an eligible submission has been graded. An unsubmitted or ungraded submission is not automatically counted as zero.
- A quiz contributes after there is an eligible graded result. A written-answer quiz may remain pending until the teacher grades all required written responses.
- An activity explicitly marked Missing may count as zero when the report calculation includes it.
- If an included component has no eligible graded or explicitly missing results, that component remains pending.
When a required component is pending, Speakly leaves the overall score and grade letter pending rather than treating the work as zero or silently redistributing its weight.
What to check
- Confirm the assignment or quiz belongs to the correct live course and the session range covered by the report.
- Check whether the activity is published or closed and whether the student's enrollment covers its session.
- For an assignment, check whether a teacher has graded the submission.
- For a quiz with written answers, check whether all required written responses have been graded.
- Ask the report's responsible teacher to review the calculation after the source work is complete.
Saved progress reports do not automatically recalculate when a later grade is entered. A teacher or administrator must review and recalculate the report when appropriate.
